4th Horse Riding Lesson

It wasn't really a lesson coz my butt was hurting from the other day... So I just went around on normal speed except for half a round which was fast... other than that just wanted to take care of my butt... lol..

So today's lesson was uneventful.. Endurance.. had to stay on the horse trotting for 50 mins. non-stop... butts and inner thighs hurting like hell... need extra rest...

2nd Horse Riding Lesson

So today, I was supposed to learn about speed.. and learn I did... This phrase is used and abused over and over... but I gotta say it...

There's a first time for everything...

So all was well today.. got on the horse basic instructions again.. trotted off as usual... slowly increased the speed... However, couldn't really understand the changing of the speed thingy... Sometimes the horse would really go fast.. and other times slowly.. as if its expecting me to do something... so generally the lesson wasn't going that great... coz I couldn't understand... When I asked the trainer, he said that the horse knows when you are in the right position and will move faster accordingly... and he sorta showed me the right position...

Then I go... start the round off with trotting speed... move up to a little faster... by the time I was half-way around the 500m thingy... I increased the speed.. and whoa... as my co-author rightly predicted.. and I quote "breakneck speed"... I increased the speed half-way to the starting mark so I was really going fast... then turning around the starting point (going left) I accidentally.. accidentally being the key word... increases the speed again... and the horse loses its balance... and I lose my grip.. and...

WHAM!!!

I hit the ground.. butt/back first... didn't break nething... especially not the neck as my co-author suggested!!! Thank God for that.. wasn't a hard fall... soft sand everywhere.. got up right away.. Trainer says I did good... next time I won't fall.. coz I know what to do and what not to do.. sorta anyway.. got back on the horse and took another 2 rounds... not as fast.. although the horse tried to run at 'breakneck speed" again but I slowed it down coz I wasn't balanced properly... did go above average speed though...

1st Horse Riding Lesson

So I just started to learn about horses.. I've always been amazed by the creature.. I finally got to enroll in a class that will teach me how to properly ride it...

The first class was just the basics of the horse.. different types and what not.. then it was the intro to the equipment.. the bridle, the saddle, etc... then how to properly hold the horse while getting on it... and finally how to move... basic forward, right, left and stop... rode around the 500m course for approximately an hour with a 5 min. break in between.

Tomorrow hopefully i'll learn how to change the speed (although I did change the speed often I still need to figure out exactly how it works)...

Long live horses...

Stones vs M16s... Rockets vs Apaches, Tanks, F16s, etc... And still Israel is scared of Palestinians.. it is just amazing what just pure faith can do...

I am a Jew. I was a participant in the Rally for the Right of Return to Palestine. It was the right thing to do. I've heard about the European holocaust against the Jews since I was a small child. I've visited the memorials in Washington, DC and Jerusalem dedicated to Jewish lives lost and I've cried at the recognition to what level of atrocity mankind is capable of sinking.

Where are the Jews of conscience? No righteous malice can be held against the survivors of Hitler's holocaust. These fragments of humanity were in no position to make choices beyond that of personal survival. We must not forget that being a survivor or a co-religionist of the victims of the European Holocaust does not grant dispensation from abiding by the rules of humanity.

"Never again" as a motto, rings hollow when it means "never again to us alone." My generation was raised being led to believe that the biblical land was a vast desert inhabited by a handful of impoverished Palestinians living with their camels and eking out a living in the sand. The arrival of the Jews was touted as a tremendous benefit to these desert dwellers. Golda Meir even assured us that there "is no Palestinian problem".

We know now this picture wasn't as it was painted. Palestine was a land filled with people who called it home. There were thriving towns and villages, schools and hospitals. There were Jews, Christians and Muslims. In fact, prior to the occupation, Jews represented a mere seven per cent of the population and owned three per cent of the land.

Taking the blinders off for a moment, I see a second atrocity perpetuated by the very people who should be exquisitely sensitive to the suffering of others. These people knew what it felt like to be ordered out of your home at gun point and forced to march into the night to unknown destinations or face execution on the spot. The people who displaced the Palestinians knew first hand what it means to watch your home in flames, to surrender everything dear to your heart at a moment's notice. Bulldozers levelled hundreds of villages, along with the remains of the village inhabitants, the old and the young. This was nothing new to the world.

Poland is a vast graveyard of the Jews of Europe. Israel is the final resting place of the massacred Palestinian people. A short distance from the memorial to the Jewish children lost to the holocaust in Europe there is a levelled parking lot. Under this parking lot is what's left of a once flourishing village and the bodies of men, women and children whose only crime was taking up needed space and not leaving graciously. This particular burial marker reads: "Public Parking".

I've talked with Palestinians. I have yet to meet a Palestinian who hasn't lost a member of their family to the Israeli Shoah, nor a Palestinian who cannot name a relative or friend languishing under inhumane conditions in an Israeli prison. Time and time again, Israel is cited for human rights violations to no avail. On a recent trip to Israel, I visited the refugee camps inhabited by a people who have waited 52 years in these 'temporary' camps to go home. Every Palestinian grandparent can tell you the name of their village, their street, and where the olive trees were planted. Their grandchildren may never have been home, but they can tell you where their great-grandfather lies buried and where the village well stood. The press has fostered the portrait of the Palestinian terrorist. But the victims who rose up against human indignity in the Warsaw Ghetto are called heroes. Those who lost their lives are called martyrs. The Palestinian who tosses a rock in desperation is a terrorist.

Two years ago I drove through Palestine and watched intricate sprinkler systems watering lush green lawns of Zionist settlers in their new condominium complexes, surrounded by armed guards and barbed wire in the midst of a Palestinian community where there was not adequate water to drink and the surrounding fields were sandy and dry. University professor Moshe Zimmerman reported in the Jerusalem Post (30 April, 1995), "The [Jewish] children of Hebron are just like Hitler's youth."

We Jews are suing for restitution, lost wages, compensation for homes, land, slave labour and back wages in Europe. Am I a traitor of a Jew for supporting the right of return of the Palestinian refugees to their birthplace and compensation for what was taken that cannot be returned?

The Jewish dead cannot be brought back to life and neither can the Palestinian massacred be resurrected. David Ben Gurion said, "Let us not ignore the truth among ourselves...politically, we are the aggressors and they defend themselves... The country is theirs, because they inhabit it, whereas we want to come here and settle down, and in their view we want to take away from them their country...".

Palestine is a land that has been occupied and emptied of its people. Its cultural and physical landmarks have been obliterated and replaced by tidy Hebrew signs. The history of a people was the first thing eradicated by the occupiers. The history of the indigenous people has been all but eradicated as though they never existed. And all this has been hailed by the world as a miraculous act of God. We must recognise that
Israel's existence is not even a question of legality so much as it is an illegal fait accompli realised through the use of force while supported by the Western powers. The UN missions directed at Israel in attempting to correct its violations of have thus far been futile.

In Hertzl's 'The Jewish State' the father of Zionism said: "We must investigate and take possession of the new Jewish country by means of every modern expedient." I guess I agree with Ehud Barak ( 3 June 1998) when he said, "If I were a Palestinian, I'd also join a terror group." I'd go a step further perhaps. Rather than throwing little stones in desperation, I'd hurtle a boulder.

Hopefully, somewhere deep inside, every Jew of conscience knows that this was no war; that this was not God's restitution of the holy land to it's rightful owners. We know that a human atrocity was and continues to be perpetuated against an innocent people who couldn't come up with the arms and money to defend themselves against the western powers bent upon their demise as a people.

We cannot continue to say, "But what were we to do?" Zionism is not synonymous with Judaism. I wholly support the rally of the right of return of the Palestinian people. here.

Humans to Animals...

Hamas wants Israel out of Middle East and Israel wants Hamas out of Middle East. Hamas has been under siege since over a year. What can they possibly do to hurt Israel?

A rule of strategy is to never corner your opponent. Unfortunately that is what Israel did and now it is paying the price.

Rockets are like stones being thrown at Israelis... They are the ones using Apaches', Tanks, and Fighter Jets.. What does Hamas have?

Oh and btw, Hamas is democratically elected... What happened to promoting democratic governments in the Middle East and Asia? If they don't like the people elected they're just going to kill them off?

Israeli officials keep lying... Innoncent kids keep dying... The Bielski brothers did not target civilians... But while Tuvia Bielski clearly sanctified innocent lives and did not want to turn into animals... Now, in his own words, the Jews have become animals...

Busy, busy, busy...

If you're a regular reader of this blog, you probably know that I am a movie addict, my brain stopped functioning, I just have too much of free time and I am a huge procrastinator.

But after procrastinating for decades, I finally got myself a little busier than I usually am... For one thing, I have deadlines for 2 assignments within this month (16th & 30th) which I haven't even started; and I finally joined a gym...

So here's my timetable now...
7 AM - Wake up, shower, get ready for office
8 AM - Reach office, check e-mails
9 AM - Do work
10/11 AM - Finish work
11 AM - Get coffee, do a little study
12 PM - Browse Internet, do a little more study
2 PM - Start network game
4 PM - Prepare to go to gym
5 PM - Reach gym, start Aerobics
7 PM - Do a little weights
8 PM - Reach home, shower, eat lunch+dinner, relax, browse Internet
11 PM - Go to sleep

I should be focusing on the assignments but for some reason I just can't get my mind to them...

Oh well...

Ideas

On my journeys for the past almost 3 weeks... I got major ideas for blog posts... Unfortunately for my readers... I did not write them down... and since I don't have such a great memory... I have completely forgotten them...

In any case, I am planning to keep myself busy for some time... But here is a little something that my co-author found hilarious as well as freaky...

Ever since I was a kid in the park I seemed to fancy the monkey bars... I would love watching kids hang from those thingys.. and when I was old enough I did the hanging... I was real good at it too... I dunno how good I would be now after I've gained quite a bit... Anyway point being the story I was telling my co-author was one about my first time on a golf course..

Of course, I never knew how to play golf.. and I am not that great at it right now as well (mainly because I play very rarely and I just play to pass time)... Anyway, so I didn't know how to play so I said I'll watch... Now the problem was I was the extra guy... The seventh guy... The golf carts carry only 2 each and we rented 3 and being as cheap as I was I didn't bother.. I was like I'll walk it... They're like no you can't... I'm like sure I can... and then I actually saw the holes and I was like no I can't... lol... anyway.. so I was observing as my buddies teed off... and then they got back into their carts and I decided I can't walk that far.. so they suggested I hang on to the back of the cart.. and I did... worked out perfectly... till the golf course ppl came up and told us not to do it... hehe...

So this was one incident... where I hung on the back of a moving vehicle... The second time was recently me and a couple of friends couldn't find a taxi in one of the busiest cities.. and then we saw couple of mini-buses... my friends just jumped in coz everybody was jumping in without finding how much or where the guy was going.. I asked and then tried to get in but by that time it was full.. and there was no other taxi or mini-bus in sight.. so me and a couple of guys who were standing looked at each other and then just hung on to the ladder on the back of the mini-bus that led to the grill on the roof... One guy actually climbed up and sat on it... I just latched on to the ladder and hung...

It is really fun... even though its really dangerous... You should try it sometime...

Anyway, I promise to blog more if I am presented with more ideas... Come to think of it.. one was politics... Oh well... laterz...

Off-Balance

Man its been a long time since I've logged into Blogger. Things have been wacky on the actual life front... Was so confused and everything was all up in the air... some of it is still up there but at least some/most of the things have settled down.

Anyway.. I was watching CNN and they had McCain and Obama in a pic with Off-Balance written in the background.. And that reminded me of something totally different.. have you ever stood on one leg in the shower - while showering that is?

I have and for some reason you're never stable.. You always think you're gonna fall down and essentially you hold something for support... I wonder who designed the stupid bumpy shower tray... Your foot thinks that the ground is plain straight but then you have these bumps that make you think that its not straight and then you re-adjust your center of gravity but when you do, you encounter another bump and there goes your balance...

On a more serious note, Obama is having trouble with Palin... and as the Republicans said, he fell into the trap... Running campaigns is not very different from a chess game.. Politics itself is much bigger than a chess game... But yeh, McCain put up a decoy rook... and Obama's king was in trouble.. Obama tried to save the king while McCain focused his attack on the queen...

Will Obama save his king and queen in time? More to come after the break... Oh and I wonder if America's pride in democracy will be shaken with dictatorship...

What should we do?

Another month on automatic drive/cruise control... Thoughtless and mindless continuum of life that never seems to end (i.e. continuum not life :-) hehe)...

I'm a relative fan of Boston Legal and I try to watch it whenever it is on... Sundays 9pm local time but I have managed to miss quite a bit.. especially in the last month...

Except yesterday... and I really loved this part of the 4th episode in the 4th season... the closing of a court case:

I come from England. There was a time when the whole world belonged to us. It took a while for us to make peace with the idea that it didn't anymore, and probably never did. Lovely idea, I suppose, the thought of imposing one's culture all over the globe. I think the world once belonged to America, too, or so you thought. It really doesn't.

And then I thought... Aren't we trying to impose our values to others... In fact we are trying to do it all the time... whether it is through blogging, through the media, or just plain through religion... What we really want, I guess, is for everybody to just get along... we all have good intentions.. but then again:

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

I don't know... I guess we need to define what we need to impose and what we shouldn't... the question of criteria comes in again..

How would the world be if there was one basic set of morals that everyone would follow?

1. Respect all people regardless especially parents
2. You shall not murder
3. You shall not commit adultery
4. You shall not steal
5. You shall not lie
6. You shall keep promises
7. You shall give charity
8. You shall care for orphans
9. You shall be just in all your dealings
10. You shall not be arrogant

I'm sure there are quite a bit more but these are the ones that come to mind...

But what do we do if someone does not follow them? Punishment? Isolation? War? or just plain Preach and hope they get better?

Where am I now?

I think its quite obvious now that things didn't go as planned. However, as promised, here is a post.

For the past few weeks I have been quite busy with different stuff... Stuff like work, studies and simple time-wasters... I guess some it is has to do with something that hit me perhaps a couple of weeks ago... I am 25...

Don't get me wrong, its not like I didn't know I was 25.. I did.. its just that I didn't absorb the fact till recently. You could say its like a mid-life crisis.. but it isn't my mid-life.. not yet at least I hope...

Anyway... as a kid or a teen I wanted to do so much by 25... I wanted to be a businessman... I wanted to better the world... I wanted to be somewhere... and that is definitely not here...

But hey, realistically, not all was possible.. and I acknowledge that... but looking back... I think I could have done alot of different things... but I didn't... perhaps because I'm part slacker part lazy...

Oh well... It's about time I do start something... and hopefully I will... so stay tuned...

Who wants to be nothing? That is a question I recently came to think about... more so after someone mentioned off-hand... "Without the passport we are nothing"...


Who are we without the stuff that surrounds us? The passport, the house, the car, the clothes and more... Do we fight everyday to protect that stuff for a so-called identity that will change?

I guess the logical question is what creates your identity?

But then do we really want to be something? For most of our lives whether consciously or subconsciously we are always looking to be like somebody... That person is better looking... That person has a good personality... That person has something I want...

Why can't we just be nothing... After all, quite a few of the inventors didn't create stuff to be known.. They were just being themselves... a blip on a radar screen... They were nothing... But then they became something...

Force of Gravity

Everybody wants or has wanted that special belonging... That belonging is "cured" by marriage...
But then the essence of getting married is selecting the perfect person for marriage... And while conversing with my co-author, she mentioned S.S.S. and when asked what it was.. she simply said... Spouse Selection System....

That made me thing.. how exactly do you select a wife.. or a husband for that matter... what do you really look for... and how do you know that you can spend your whole life with this person?

I think everyone has their take on this... some say, I want someone beautiful... others, I want sense of humor...

But these are mostly superficial things... when you start living with someone... you get to know the nitty gritties...

And in the West this is prevalent... Live with the person long enough then when you know the person.. get married...

The sad fact is.. you will never know the person... not until you spend your lifetime with them... Its amazing how around 20+/- years mould a person so much that you can't find out everything there is to know about them...

Its all about understanding... between you and the spouse...

So here's my system on selecting a spouse:

1. Find yourself before you go looking for someone else.
2. Know what you want and why you want another person in your life.
3. Find the person you think you might want.
4. Find something in the person's looks that you love.
5. Understand the person's dreams, the perfect future, the person has dreamt about.
6. Understand the person's beliefs, what is and is not compatible.
7. Understand the person's general outlook on life.
8. Understand the person's limits (of understanding, of patience, etc.). Test if you can.

Some guidelines on each one

1. To find yourself, you really need to get down in your heart. Be really clear on with yourself and find out your personality. The process of interaction with the public generally leads you to find you. But you need to interact with yourself in order to find the inner you.
2. Once you know who you are. The hard part is knowing what you want. My way of doing this is imagining I'm stranded on an island. And then imagining if you'd really like the other person to be on the island with you, or would you prefer him/her coming out of the ocean. If you would prefer the person to be with you that means you're compatible and the marriage will probably last. If you would prefer the person to come out of the ocean, then its probably a short-term endeavour.
3. There are several ways to find a person. Love or Arranged, either way you need to sit down with the person at least once to find this stuff out.
4. There should be one thing that you absolutely adore in the looks of this person... whether its the hair, the eyes, the smile, anything that you really really love.
5. You absolutely have to know what his/her perfect future is like... with/without you. If he/she says something like married with 10 kids and a full-time job then you're in for a ride.
6. All aspects of belief should be questioned right there and then... If a person is into a religion, you need to find out what this religion is... inside out.. then only you can find out what this person's mode of thinking is and whether it will be compatible in the future.
7. A general outlook on life on this world helps you to find out how this person will mature. It may not necessarily the way you predict, but it will help you to reason with him/her in the future.
8. This is the part where I seem to have the most experience. I like to test the limits of most of the people I meet... The ones that I know I will be in contact with for a long time... Test the waters... joke a li'l bit... sweet insults... basically a battle of the wits... See how the other person responds... this will be your initial judgement.. It will or will not change in the future.. either the other person will adapt accordingly and make the coversation more interesting.. or the other person will just think that you're crazy... Either way, you'll be able to understand the person more and believe it or not, will probably get you closer together.

From physical appearance to wanton behavior, sex dominates the thinking of young people. How did we get here? Is it too late to turn the tide?

Nearly all facets of children’s lives are in some way influenced by sex. The more you learn what society is teaching your children, the more you will want to protect them from its pernicious influence.

Throngs of young people are being brainwashed by a daily diet of perversion, debauchery, titillation and stimulation from the moral wasteland that is Hollywood, teen magazines, television, music videos and even aspects of the modern education system. This indoctrination of pop culture has led to a disturbing picture.

This is especially apparent during Halloween, where sales boom at costume shops. Every year certain costumes quickly sell out, such as the “Sexy Rock Star,” which comes with a micro-miniskirt, a top exposing the midriff and fishnet stockings, or the “Playboy Racy Referee,” also with a micro-miniskirt, as well as a tight-fitting striped spandex top with laced sides, designed to be accessorized with thigh-high black go-go boots.
Other costume options include dresses with lace bodices, mini-skirted French Maids or Sexy Cop costumes. This should not be a surprise, as Halloween is well known as an opportunity for teenagers and adults to wear something risqué.
However, these costumes are not only for adults or even teenagers, they are also designed to fit girls as young as age eight!

A few examples begin our journey into what young people deal with each day. Today, it is common to lose one’s virginity by age 15 or younger. Of course, thoughts and discussions about sex begin much younger. It may come as a surprise that oral sex—even in the classroom!—has now reached epidemic levels. Fifth grade graduation parties feature scores of children “freak” dancing—a form of dancing in which people simulate the sex act while clothed.

A focus on being “sexy” starts even younger. Several years ago, Mattel introduced a version of Barbie called “Lingerie Barbie.” Although toymaker Mattel stated the doll was for ages 14 and up, the average market for Barbie is ages 8 to 12. The product description shows how children are forced to confront sexuality issues: “Barbie exudes a flirtatious attitude in her heavenly merry widow bustier ensemble accented with intricate lace and matching peekaboo peignoir.”
Fast forward to 2007. Barbie has been replaced by the wildly popular Bratz dolls. Their name typifies what these dolls represent. They range from infants wearing makeup to preteen dolls wearing fishnets, miniskirts, heavy makeup and outrageous outfits. The Bratz marketing machine is growing. Their website features a magazine, games, toys, a clothing line in sizes for six- to eight-year-olds and even an upcoming movie—everything a girl needs to be a “brat”!

Children and Sex
Children are bombarded with an array of media glamorizing sex. Along with an onslaught of sexual images and innuendos, modern society pushes a ridiculous body image—for girls and boys. If you are a young girl, your role model is to be a scantily-clad, anorexic runway model with a body impossible to achieve.

The fashion industry has responded with products. Little girls are able to purchase clothing that would make many adults blush. Several years ago a major fashion chain made news when they sold child-sized thong underwear with sexually suggestive phrases on them. Should a ten-year-old have underwear with phrases such as “eye candy,” “kiss me” or “wink wink”?
It is nearly impossible for young girls to find shirts or tops covering their midriff, or pants that are not skintight and revealing. Children are forced to confront the concept of “sexy” before they are capable of understanding what it means.
The trend is not limited to girls. Boys also aspire to “ideal” body images and attitudes. Their peers and the media teach them it is cool—and even essential—to be as promiscuous as possible. A boy’s ability to “conquer” the opposite sex is directly related to how much of a man he feels he will become. This has created a generation of young boys aspiring to be like what they see on television and in movies and music videos. Their dress reflects their wayward role models: baggy clothes, sloppy looks, and a general disinterest for almost anything—except for girls.

The result of the immoral sexual focus in children? Researchers in Washington, D.C., wanted to start a program to prevent sexual activity in youth. After initially offering the program to seventh-graders, it was ineffective because too many seventh-graders were already having sex! The program was then reworked and offered to fifth-graders—10- and 11-year-olds.
The study, which followed these students from 1995 to 1999, showed that 20% of the students—one in five!—had sex before they were 15 years old. The 1999 results also showed that 19% of girls reported having sex. This was a 42% increase from 1988. Nearly a decade later, today’s results would be even worse.
There is simply not enough space to recount the multitude of news reports of children caught in the sex act. No wonder a New York Times article stated, “…some studies indicate three-fourths of all girls have had sex during their teenage years and 15% have had four or more partners.”

Sex Instruction—Not Education
Educators have sought to compensate a lack of emotional maturity by flooding young people with information. However, it should go without saying that children are not ready to have sexual relations of any sort. They are not equipped to make such life-altering decisions. One may assume that simply teaching children about sex will help them make right choices. Even the brief picture above demonstrates such an assumption is dead wrong. Time and again, children prove they are unable to see past their teen years and understand the far-reaching consequences of their decisions.

This has not stopped the popular “Comprehensive Sexual Education” programs from being taught throughout the Western world. Two examples demonstrate how far sexual education has gone:Imagine your child studying the following lesson: “What They Didn’t Tell You About Queer Sex & Sexuality in Health Class: A Workshop For Youth Only, Ages 14-21” or “Teach Out,” which was held in Massachusetts. It featured that state’s Department of Education employees—government employees—instructing children as young as 14 how to properly perform homosexual acts!
And then there is the book One Teenager in Ten: Writings by Gay & Lesbian Youth. Recommended reading in the California school system, it discusses in explicit detail a 16-year-old’s first lesbian experience with her 23-year-old dance teacher. The book explains how she hid the homosexual, pedophilic experience from her religious parents.

Sexualized Generation
A preoccupation with sex grips an entire generation. The systematic sexualization of youth is destroying what should be the innocence of childhood. Children as young as five have been taught to view themselves as “sexual beings.” They want to be as sexy as those they idolize on television and in movies.
No young teen—and certainly no five-year-old!—should be wondering whether she or he is sexy. Why has society created an atmosphere pushing children to meet expectations once placed only on adults?
You have read examples of sexually suggestive clothing for little girls, toys that encourage and promote a sexual image, statistics of various sex acts committed by children and teenagers, and curriculums designed to teach children to be sexual, even instructing them about sex.
Further, children of varying ages are taught to be tolerant of all forms of sexual expression. Many Hollywood movies show minors in sexual situations and, at times, sexual acts with adults. In high school, teens are taught experimentation is nothing more than “learning who they are.”
Western society is organized to sexualize young people. It goes without saying that in an age of pedophilia and other perversions, such conduct is not only immoral, but dangerous.

Tolerance—A Foundation of Permissiveness
It is popular to believe that tolerance is a basic tenet of a healthy society. Many would echo that people should not judge others or discriminate against anyone. Tolerance is based on what appears to be a noble foundation. It seems to be based on a concept of caring for and accepting people of all backgrounds.
However, the underlying root of the tolerance movement goes much deeper.
Educators have gone beyond simply teaching tolerance and acceptance of someone with different physical attributes, such as race, height, weight, body type, etc. Tolerance now encompasses acceptance and promotion of every action—every type of behavior—no matter how extreme or perverse. There is now always a reason—an excuse—for what is simply wrong conduct. “Being tolerant” has become that excuse.
In a society claiming to be based upon Judeo-Christian values, one might assume that tolerance is biblical. Many say God tolerates all forms of conduct as long as we “love each other.” As long as “Jesus is in our hearts,” conduct is considered secondary.
The Bible teaches no such thing! While it does teach much about love and mercy, it also clearly states that only by living the laws of God is love perfected (I John 2:5; 5:3). Sinful conduct leads to unhappiness and ultimately death (Rom. 6:23). Therefore a perfect, loving and merciful God instructs His children to obey His laws so they can be happy (John 10:10). He knows that when His laws are broken, sadness, emptiness and confusion result.
Therefore, unless God is a cruel and heartless being, He could never tolerate sin.
When Jesus was confronted with an adulterous woman, instead of condemning her (as the scribes and Pharisees wanted), He first showed mercy and then commanded her to “sin no more” (John 8:11). In other words, Christ told her to stop committing adultery—to stop breaking God’s Law (I John 3:4).

Is It Too Late?
Decades have shown that modern entertainment and educational systems have failed hundreds of millions of children. Abstinence and virginity are ignored as the only wise choices. Perverse attitudes and entertainment are marketed to extremely young children as normal and viable options. Worse yet, teens and small children are exposed to alternative lifestyles without parental knowledge.
Yet nothing is done.
Under the banner of tolerance, parents have been removed from teaching proper morals to their children. Has society gone too far? Is it possible to purge the unbridled immorality that has saturated our culture?
Ask yourself: How likely is our society to remove sex from advertising? Are there any signs the fashion industry is interested in curbing the sale of suggestive clothing to children and teens? Are educators changing curriculums to explain that sex can be fulfilling only if it is within the confines of marriage?
Of course not!
General Douglas MacArthur (1880-1964) said, “History fails to record a single precedent in which nations subject to moral decay have not passed into political and economic decline.”
Decades have passed since these wise words were spoken. Things have become much, much worse. Time is short—humanity must pay attention now!

The Solution for Youth
Leaving better judgment behind, educators flood children with information on sex in the hope they will somehow make “correct” sexual choices. This is tantamount to giving detailed instructions to a terrorist on how, when and where to plant a nuclear weapon. Then imagine that, after such a weapon is detonated, we deduce the solution is to give terrorists more information—with even more detail. No one would suggest such a ridiculous idea!
Yet every day, children and teens are being given what they need to commit moral terrorism.
There is hope—one short-term and the other long. The ultimate solution is to change the educational system, change the entertainment and fashion industry, and change human nature into something positive and fulfilling. This cannot be done by man alone. It takes a fundamental shift in humanity’s focus—one that can only be realized by the Return of Jesus Christ and a systematic reconstruction of society as we know it.
There is something you can do now to make a difference in the lives of your children. You can take steps now to protect your children from the storm they are weathering.
The greatest gift you can give your children is to arm them with right knowledge and correct understanding. This will give them a fighting chance to withstand the pressure from peers and society confronting them on every side.
